This study examines the concept of Integrative Criticism (Imtizaji Tanqeed) in Urdu literary criticism, with particular emphasis on the critical thought of Wazir Agha. Integrative Criticism emerged as an attempt to move beyond the limitations of rigid, single-theory approaches and to develop a broader and more flexible method of reading literary texts. The study explores its theoretical foundations, creative dimensions, and methodological implications, particularly its emphasis on the positive assimilation of diverse critical theories rather than their mechanical combination. It also highlights the significance of extensive and multidimensional study in the formation of an integrative critical personality. Another important aspect of this approach is the balanced relationship among the author, text, and reader, through which literary interpretation is viewed as a comprehensive and interactive process. The study further discusses the role of Integrative Criticism in challenging theoretical rigidity, extremism, intellectual stagnation, and limited critical perspectives in Urdu criticism. At the same time, the objections raised by Daniyal Tareer's critique are examined, particularly the concern that unrestricted use of different critical devices may weaken the structural and existential significance of the text. The study concludes that Integrative Criticism is not merely an aggregate of different critical theories; rather, its distinctive feature lies in the creative assimilation and selective application of relevant theoretical insights according to the nature of the literary text. It may therefore be regarded as an important dimension of Wazir Agha's critical system and as an effort to recover the comprehensive and flexible functions of literary criticism.
