Dreams appear in various forms and states. Some dreams appear seemingly meaningless and obscure; even describing them is difficult. Some dreams are meaningful and recur consistently. Certain signs appear repeatedly in dreams. Dreams influence human personality. The terms “ru'ya” and “mubashshirat” have been used in the blessed Hadiths to refer to dreams. The Prophet (SAW) stated:
"A Muslim's dream is one of the forty-five parts of Prophethood."
Until the Day of Judgment, dreams and human beings remain inextricably linked. “ru'ya” and “mubashshirat” are a form of assistance from Allah, the Lord of Glory, for the believer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Of the glad tidings of prophethood, only true dreams now remain—those which a righteous person sees themselves or which are shown to others regarding them."
Whether a dream is clear or obscure, human nature compels one to seek its meaning and only an expert in the science of dream interpretation can explain this reason. "Ta'tir al-Anam fi Ta'bir al-Manam" is an unparalleled work of the twelfth century Hijri. This is a scholarly treasure trove from our predecessors regarding the interpretation of dreams. Research on this book serves to strengthen the science of dream interpretation.
