Abstract

This article explores the religious history of ancient Indian religions, focusing on their development and the profound influence they have had on Western civilization. Indian religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, have contributed significantly to global philosophical and spiritual thought, especially in the context of metaphysics, ethics, and cosmology. Their spread through trade, migration, and intellectual exchange has left an indelible mark on Western thought, from the early philosophical schools of Greece to the modern era. This study delves into the historical evolution of these religions, their sacred texts, and their ongoing impact on Western philosophical and spiritual practices.
