Hafeez Taib’s Prophetic Praise portrays various aspects of the life of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) in a very touching and devotional manner. In his poetry, the basic features of the blessed life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), such as Milad-un-Nabi, miracles, Mi’raj-un-Nabi, Hijrah, Masjid Quba, Ghazwat-un-Nabi, Khutbah of Hajjat-ul-Wida, Madinat-ur-Rasul, etc., are not only described but also aligned with the classical tradition and modern requirements of Urdu literature. Hafeez Taib, using genres like Naat and Ghazal, has shaped the life of the Prophet into a poetic form and conveyed it to the feelings and emotions of the contemporary reader. His poetry is distinguished by its artistic delicacy, emotional intensity and spiritual impact, which is not merely an expression of devotion but also a means of giving new meaning and scope to the Prophetic Praise tradition of the subcontinent. This study clarifies which salient aspects of the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) are highlighted in Hafeez Taib's poetry and how they further strengthen and refresh the Naat literature of Urdu.
