(A Research Review of the miracles of the prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Tafsir Mawahib-ur-Rahman by Syed Ameer Ali Malihabadi and its Contempora

Abstract

This article explores the miracles (mu'jizat) of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as discussed by Syed Ameer Ali in Tafsir Mawahib-ur-Rahman (Surah al –Baqarah).Unlike the miracles of earlier prophet within this surah, the prophet's own miracle is centered on the Qur'an itself: its inimitability and divine challenge (tahaddi) issued to mankind. The paper looks at this topic using Quranic verses, scholary views and classical explanations (tafsir), while also highlighting contemporary relevance and connecting it to today's world. This research shows that the Quran itself is the greatset everlasting   miracle. It explains how Quran's beautiful language deep wisdom and perfect laws cannot be matched by anyone.

A miracle is an act that is contrary to the habits and power of ordinary human beings and that act is actually performed only by the power of allah Almighty, and it appears to have been performed by the claimant to prophethood.

At the top of the list of prophet's miracles is the Holy Quran itself. The blessed person of the prophet ﷺis himself a miracles. Other miracles discussed in this article include: the prophet being unlettered (unable to read or write),water flowing out from between his fingers like spring, trees, stones, and pebbles greeting him in clear speech, the splitting of the  moon in two parts, the crying of the tree trunk(Hanin al-jidh),animals and beasts speaking to him, and other similar miracles. After that, we will discuss the contemporary meaning and importance of these miracles, and moral, educational,and interfaith lessons that modern Muslim society can gain from them.
