This study aims to examine the rhetoric of sentence structure in the Prophetic traditions (Hadiths) through an analytical study of selected Hadiths on tribulations (fitan) narrated in Sahih Muslim. The research adopts a descriptive, analytical, and applied methodology, focusing on declarative and imperative sentence structures, as well as rhetorical devices such as emphasis, restriction, and repetition, and their role in constructing meaning and achieving persuasive impact. The study reveals that the Prophetic sentence is characterized by remarkable structural precision and rhetorical depth. Declarative sentences are predominantly used to establish unseen truths and future events, while imperative and interrogative forms serve purposes of guidance, warning, and moral instruction. The analysis also highlights the significant role of emphasis and restriction in reinforcing meanings, eliminating doubt, and directing the audience toward proper understanding and conduct during times of tribulation.
The findings confirm that sentence rhetoric constitutes an essential aspect of the linguistic and rhetorical miracle of the Prophetic tradition.
