This study explores the role of Islam in shaping social and family values in rural Sindh, Pakistan. In the qualitative research, drawing on in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participant observations, we conducted study in across selected villages. The research examines how Islamic teachings, cultural traditions, and local interpretations intersect to influence everyday life. The findings reveal that Islam serves as a central framework guiding moral conduct, gender roles, kinship structures, and community cohesion. Core values such as respect for elders, collective responsibility, modesty, and marital commitment are deeply rooted in religious beliefs and reinforced through social practices. The study further highlights how religious institutions, local clergy, and family elders act as key agents in transmitting Islamic values across generations. However, it also identifies variations in interpretation shaped by socioeconomic conditions, education levels, and exposure to urban influences. While Islamic principles promote social harmony and stability, certain practices—particularly regarding gender roles and decision-making authority—reflect a blend of religion and entrenched cultural norms. By providing a nuanced understanding of the interplay between religion and rural social structures, this research contributes to broader discussions on the role of Islam in everyday life in Pakistan. It also underscores the importance of distinguishing between religious doctrine and cultural practices when analyzing social dynamics in rural communities.
