This study examines the representation of environmental elements in the children’s stories of Ashraf Sabohi, an important writer in Urdu children’s literature. His stories go beyond entertainment and contribute to the moral and intellectual development of young readers.Using an ecocritical approach, the study highlights how natural elements such as trees, rain, gardens, and water function as meaningful components that shape emotions, relationships, and values. Alongside nature, the social environment marked by poverty, class differences, and societal attitudes also plays a significant role in character formation and thematic depth. The research further shows that Sabohi integrates cultural and ethical values within these environmental settings, where positive behavior and harmony with nature are rewarded. By analyzing selected stories, the study concludes that Sabohi’s narratives promote environmental awareness and encourage a balanced and responsible relationship between humans and their surroundings, making his work relevant for both literary and ecological studies.
