The study of Shamā’il al-Nabī (Prophetic characteristics) occupies a central place in Islamic scholarship, as it reflects th physical, moral, and spiritual attributes of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Over time, scholars, poets, and writers have adopted diverse literary and intellectual approaches to portray these attributes, drawing deeply from the Qur’an and Hadith. This research explores the various methodologies employed in expressing the Shamā’il of the Prophet ﷺ, with particular focus on the poetic collection “Hareem-e-Noor.” The Qur’an presents the Prophet ﷺ as an embodiment of the highest moral excellence, while the Hadith literature provides detailed descriptions of his character, habits, and physical features. These foundational sources have significantly influenced later literary expressions, especially in devotional poetry such as Hamd and Na‘t. This study analyzes how these influences are reflected in the thematic, stylistic, and symbolic dimensions of the selected poetic work. Adopting a descriptive and analytical approach, the research categorizes the methodologies of expression into emotional, descriptive, symbolic, and didactic forms. It further examines how the poet integrates Qur’anic themes and Prophetic traditions to construct a spiritually engaging and intellectually meaningful portrayal of the Prophet ﷺ. The study concludes that the poetic depiction of Shamā’il is not merely an artistic endeavor but a continuation of a deeply rooted Islamic tradition grounded in revelation. It highlights that such works play a vital role in nurturing love for the Prophet ﷺ and in transmitting his exemplary character to contemporary audiences.
