Collective Promises of Paradise in Hadiths on Jihad and the Prophet’s Battles: An Analytical Study
Keywords:
Jihad, Prophetic Battles, Collective Salvation, Hadith Studies, EschatologyAbstract
This study examines the collective promises of Paradise mentioned in the Hadith literature concerning participation in Jihād and the Prophet’s military campaigns. Certain traditions refer to specific groups such as participants in major battles and pledged companions as recipients of collective forgiveness or glad tidings of Paradise. These narrations hold significant theological and historical importance in understanding the concepts of merit, sacrifice, and divine reward in early Islam. The article gathers relevant Hadith reports and analyzes them within their textual and historical contexts. It explores the meaning of “collective promise” and investigates whether such glad tidings are absolute or implicitly conditioned by faith, sincerity, and moral conduct. By employing an analytical approach, the study clarifies the scope and implications of these traditions without isolating them from broader Islamic teachings on accountability and righteousness. The findings suggest that the collective promises should be understood within a comprehensive theological framework that integrates faith, intention, and ethical responsibility. This research contributes to a more nuanced understanding of eschatological merit in Hadith literature and highlights the importance of contextual and thematic analysis in interpreting prophetic traditions.
