Abstract

Research paper based on Punjabi Poetry as well as renowned Punjabi Sufi poet of modern era i.e., Muhammad Iqbal Zakhmi. He is renowned poet of western Punjab. His recongnition is based on Punjabi Naat. Research highlighted the life of poet, Iqbal Zakhmi. His poetry depicts his devotion towards Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). His poetry has typical classical trend. He wrote travelogues of his Hajj and Umrah Journies. He also present the migration and experiences of his personal life with his family and other Muslims from India to Pakistan. They faced a lot of bitter experiences and hardships too after reaching Pakistan. He was a Punjabi fiction writer. He present a poetry book for children, He also write his biography which is not published uptill. In short it was a kind father, soft teacher, devoted poet, keen writer but all aside he was “Ashiq e Rasool” with his deep love and devotion.
