Abstract

This paper examines the portrayal of gender fluidity in contemporary novels, exploring how these narratives challenge traditional binary conceptions of gender and offer new perspectives on identity. Drawing on queer theory and critical analyses of sex and gender, the paper analyzes how contemporary novels depict the complexities of gender experience beyond the confines of the male/female binary. Through a close reading of specific novels, the paper demonstrates how fictional narratives can contribute to a broader understanding of gender fluidity and its diverse expressions.
